Seven Deadly Sin Plot
The Seven Deadly Sins were once a band of knights in Britannia (now Great Britain) who fought the Holy Knights. Their tarnished reputation stems from their supposed defeat by the Holy Knights 100 years ago, and they are now seen as little more than a legend. It was later revealed that they had defeated themselves and had to sacrifice their own leader Meliodas to seal away their sins, indicating that the members of the group may have perished.
The group was imprisoned in Purgatory for hundreds of years after their leader, Meliodas, broke the Goddesses’ rules. For breaking the commandments set forth by the Goddesses, they became known as “The Seven Deadly Sins,” and were trapped in an enchanted prison called Purgatory for centuries. During Elizabeth’s abduction by Hendrickson, the group escaped and was taken back to Liones by Merlin, where they aim to protect her from Hendrickson who wants to retrieve Elizabeth so that he may utilize her pure soul to resurrect his master Zaratras.
During a confrontation with Hendrickson, Diane is able to knock him out with her enchanted weapon Dreyfus, which sends them tumbling off a cliff that separates her from the others. When she comes to, she finds Dreyfus missing but gains the ability to detect other creatures’ presence around her. Elizabeth’s attempts to prove her purity to the Goddesses reveal that she is, in fact, the reincarnation of Zaratras’ lover Elizabeth. It was while looking for him that Elizabeth discovers that she is really Zargas’ reincarnation. Meliodas and Zeldris attempt to kidnap her in order to use her abilities to resurrect Zaratras.
